World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item upgrade's level. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for instancefor example “Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to make stronger versions of the equipment using less Upgrade Crystals than is required to reach the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by buying them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives players a reason to upgrade their gear even in the event that they don't know what can be improved upon the reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a significant risk that the item may be obsolete or even break if it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Certain upgrades also provide the player a bonus if they are they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded a variety of ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.

In the endgame you'll often discover that the best way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and offer a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes much faster.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values can enhance a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.

Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, which is why it is recommended to place Glyphs in strategic places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, but also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes too.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to boost the stats of specific items by inserting upgraded components. This is also known as “upping”. Every upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385. Each item level requires a different number of components to reach, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets upgraded.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained from completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in the crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough points are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When the player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same type. The same armor will be upgraded to a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This could be a drawback in that it could cause the item to become more expensive, even if you don't need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do so. This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will have a level 1 base and a totally different set of bonus bonuses. This can be beneficial but it should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled several times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants buffs when the player repeatedly enters or exits the water. This item can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of a non-upgraded version.

Requirements

Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment–armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense of the base set and upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items are upgradeable up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The probability of failure increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to revert to its original state, which will force the user to pay more for materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. Additionally, the item will lose any bonus it earned, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, an increase in heal over time or reload speed). However, the user can continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade–for instance, a standard equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance–whereas hero grade items will come with a much lower cost for each upgrade.

For instance they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require the use of different ingredients needed to upgrade.
