Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

Upgrades aren't as important for those with lower requirements because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader mod upgrader enables players to upgrade their gear to a higher item upgrading level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enhancements.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current item level of the gear being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to upgrade weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They are purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will show an item's preview when it is upgraded if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current level of the item. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currency types.

Upgraders for items can be found in many places including the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a chance to obtain a new recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a benefit as well as a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a certain level of an item level upgrade for a specific armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will be less expensive, even in the event that they belong to an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is available across all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain achievement milestones.

Crests

Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to gear of a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The most basic and straightforward upgrade route costs 15 crests while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests based on the kind of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content at the appropriate level. This could be done by engaging in outdoor activities or completing dungeons and raids in all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with a heroic difficulty for endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an item upgrade upgrader such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the upgrade process. For example, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to get their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one usage therefore it's essential to use them wisely. It is best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which will only be able to avail the account-wide discount if all of the slots are filled with high-quality gear.
