A Small Double Buggy That's Easy to Push One-Handed and Carry Up and Down Stairs

(Image: https://cdn.freshstore.cloud/offer/images/7007/33/kinderkraft-grande-plus-stroller-pushchair-for-toddlers-from-birth-to-22-kg-extra-large-hood-lie-flat-position-folding-with-one-hand-shock-absorption-on-all-wheels-gray-33.jpg)This is the double stroller with bassinet stroller you need in case you're looking for a lightweight, easy-to-push one-handed stroller. It's also easy to carry up and down the stairs.

It comes with two fixed seats with up to 30 different seating configurations are possible (including an angular one!). Both seats are UPF 50+ canopy with peekaboo windows.

Size

The Joovy Kooper X2 is a side-by-side double stroller that can hold two children at up to 50lbs each. The seats are bigger than the other double strollers with lightweights and the canopy is fitted with large sunshades with SPF 50 with windows that peek out. Other key features include cup holders for one parent and an enormous, self-standing basket that can hold up 25 lbs; swing-away bars for children to get out and in their seats and swivel lock front wheels to make it easier to maneuver on difficult terrain. This is a great option for suburban and urban families. It is also newborn-ready with two sets that include a wedgie for a lie-flat position.

Weight

The weight of a double buggy is one the main factors that determine its ease to push. A lighter buggy is simpler to lift and carry but may not have enough suspension to deal with bumps and uneven terrain.

Be sure to check the specifications of each model before you purchase. Certain double buggies come with an upper limit on the weight of the seats while others have a frame limit. Some double buggies are able to be folded with seats removed, which makes them smaller and lighter. This is a great option in cases where you have limited storage space.

Tri-fold doubles are typically the lightest models, as they only require one hand to lift the top and lower sections. They are also smaller than side-by-side buggies, which makes them a good choice for fitting through doors. The iCandy Geo 3 tri-fold double is among the most lightweight on the market. It can comfortably fit twins, or a toddler and baby.

Tandem buggies start out as a single pushchair but come with adapters that allow you to add a second seat, carrycot or car seat they are the ideal choice for expanding families. Some models, like the iCandy Orange, offer over 30 seating configurations, meaning they can grow with your family to accommodate the age of a third child. They tend to weigh more than tri-fold doubles. However, they're usually easier to move up and down kerbs thanks to the weight being distributed more evenly.

Folding

The best double buggies for small spaces fold up easily, in just a few seconds. This feature is adored by our Lab experts as it allows them to fit the buggies inside the back of their vehicles and save space when not being used. The Joovy Kooper X2 for example has straps that can be pulled up on the seats and the entire thing folds down. Even our most experienced testers were able to do this tri-fold with just one hand.

The lightweight Delta Children LX side by side is another great choice for a double buggie. Its lightweight weight is a plus however, so are its key features including large pop-out canopy with SPF 50 and peekaboo windows; swing-away bars that help children get in and out of the seats and reclined seating and leg rests designed for younger children.

Manoeuvrability

One of the most important things to take into consideration when selecting a compact double twin buggy from birth is its maneuverability, particularly how it is easy to move around with two children on board. Certain pushchairs, like the iCandy Orange with its 'cinema seating' (where the back seat is elevated) are more efficient at this than others.

Narrow tandem buggies can be good at this and so can side-by-side designs. These buggies can be a little longer and may be difficult to navigate through doorways.

The UPPAbaby Vista 2 is an excellent example of this, because it's a comparatively narrow pushchair that still allows for two seats to be added and - importantly - a 'piggyback' board that can be used to carry a third child.

Other smaller, three-wheeled models, such as the phil&teds Dot, are also incredibly agile. This is particularly the case with its clever “dot kit” which transforms it into an inline buggie. It has two different seating arrangements for children of different age groups and the front seat can be rotated so that it faces parents to create a more intimate bonding experience. It also comes with a storage basket that is easy to fold. It is an excellent choice for families that are growing!

Comfort

Parents can keep both children safe at the park, grocery store or anywhere else with narrow tandem buggies or side-by-side buggies. These lightweight doubles can carry two children as much as 50 pounds each and come with spacious, pop-out canopies that extend enough to provide real shade with peekaboo windows and padded leg rests for the little ones to kick back and relax. They also have convenient reversible seatback cup holders and an individual cup holder for parents, plus a large underseat basket.

Add the phil&teds double jogging stroller Kit to your dot buggy when you are just beginning to build an expanding family. It can transform into a double stroller, which is great for both newborns and toddlers. The innovative 3-wheel design gives an excellent maneuverability and simple kerb pop. The sling seat is a fab newborn-ready choice for ultimate face-to-face bonding. You can easily swap the seat with an infant car adapter once your children get older. With a deluxe rain cover and travel bag and ready to go on your next adventure!
